I've been feeling recently that I wanted to talk about something, anything halo. So, I've chosen my favorite part of the game: the vehicles. Lets begin. Each vehicle in Halo 3 will be talked about, as well as the best way to use them in multiple situations, as well as some tricks that look really cool on film.

THE CATEGORIES

There are four categories of vehicles:
LIGHTWEIGHT
MEDIUMWIEGHT
HEAVYWEIGHT
AIRCRAFT

LIGHTWEIGHT:
Lightweight vehicles are the first responders, the quick escape, and obviosly, the smallest.
MONGOOSE
The Mongoose is the absolute smallest vehicle in the game, and the fastest. Being Smallest it is extremely easy to knock around and flip. However, in the hands of a skilled driver, the mongoose could be a mobile assault platform of unequaled power.
SITUATIONS:
Against infantry: The mongoose is good against infantry in quick assault attacks. If you power on by, passenger firing indescriminantly at the enemy, you might provide enough stings to distraction them from the main body of your assault. If your passenger is carrying a weapon such as a rocket launcher, then you basically have an 8-shot speedy tank. however, no mtter what, NEVER LINGER. The Mongoose' power comes from MOTION. Sitting still is the same thing as saying "HEY, SHOOT ME!" Perpetual motion, people.
Against Lightweight vehicles: Surprisingly, battles between mongeese are easier to survive then any other battle. Mongeese are small quick-moving targets, and so, are that much harder to hit whilst riding a small quick-moving target. If you want to practice, take it the Rocket Race hopper. Explosives are recomended, and if you get close enough, plasma, spike, and flame grenades are extremely effective. Ghosts are a bit different. While you are fast enough the race away even if the ghost is boosting, they can still sting you with plasma, and enough WILL kill you. This tip applies to whenever you are the passenger. Always have heavy ordinance. If you don't, you would be nothing more than an annoying insect.
Against Medium wieght: Depending on how many seats in a mid-sized vehicle are filled, you have two options. attack and run. If the turret is occupied, Run. You will be screwed otherwise. if it is only the driver, run circles around him. Unless you are fighting a Choper. Then, you run.
Heavy weight: You cannot win. Run.
Aircraft: see above.

GHOST
Second smallest and second fastest of all halo 3 ground vehicles. Single seat, dual repeating class 9 plasma cannons, air brake, and a powerful boost, the ghost is an excellent counter against most vehicles, because of its high manueverability and high rate of fire. In the hands of a skilled player, it could easily take on tanks and win. It is argueably the most powerful of all the halo 3 vehicles.
SITUATIONS:
Against infantry: Here's an idea, get a new paint job. Red or purple. Your choice. Course you have to do the work yourself, and splatter every pedeistrian you encounter. Adhesive explosives are an extreme danger, though, espcially if the gas tank is hit. And watch out for heavy ordinance and turrets.
Against Lightweight vehicles: Mongeese are pretty easy to take out, as most drivers will attack you head on, no matter how poorly their passenger is armed. Consider charging them while they are looking the other way, and flipping the mongoose, and dislodging its passengers. you might even get a splatter. Against other ghosts, the only deciding faactor will be the skill with which you drive.
Against Medium wieght: Keep moving. always keep moving. the turrets on mid sized vehicles can take a ghost out like that. Advise you aproach from the gunners blind spot, and take him oput first, then deal with any passengers, taking out the driver last.
Against heavyweight: Warning: easy kill. Simply stay behind the main turret, but watch for a secondary gunner. turrets people!
Against aircraft: You have almost no hope of getting a kill. run.

Medium wieght: Welcome to our linup of midsized 4x4 W350 T and AA class. And over there, two flaming piles of crap. -points to chopper and prowler-

WARTHOG-LRV: The warthog LRV is a powerful peice of machine in its own right. Having carved a donut in the hearts of halo fans, the Warthog is the epitomy of Jeep. Armed with a fully functional anti personell machine gun turret on the back, and room for a passenger, the warthog is a good point defense vehicle. Use it as a mobile turret, to be set up in whatever area needs defense. Or, a quick responce mobile assault platform. Or, a flag-and-bomb taxi.
A LW: mongeese and ghosts provide almost no challenge to the withering fire of the machinegun turret.
A MW: Other warthogs will give you trouble, and it is ecspecially vulnerable to the Choper.
A HW: the turret is akin to a Nerf gun against tanks. Run.
A AC: kep moving and shooting.
WARTHOG-LAAV: This warthog is akin to a rocket launcher toting mongoose, only more manly. and a hell of a lot faster.
A LW: They shall bow before you...
A MW: See above.
A HW: Keep you distance, keep moving, keep shooting.
A AC: See above
